  • Licence requirements.

    A full motorcycle licence with minimum age of 21 years. This allows the Hirer to ride up to 700cc. Or minimum age of 25 for higher capacity motorcycles including the touring range.

  • Before you ride.

    The Hirer is required to read, complete and sign an ‘Agreement to Hire Rental vehicle ‘The Hirer and a representative from Goat Road Motorcycle Hire ltd will jointly check the motorcycle over and fill in an ‘’ Motorcycle Condition Report’’ noting any damage. The report will be signed by both the Hirer and Goat Road representative. A signed copy of ‘Terms and Condition Agreement’ to be with the Hirer for the duration of hire.

  • Insurance and insurance excess bond.

    Insurance cover is included for the Hired motorcycle in the daily rate. Cover for Damage, Fire & Theft.  Also, third-party liability insurance is provided to other persons property as a result of using the hired motorcycle. However, the Hirer is required to cover the insurance Excess bond. A preauthorisation of $1800 NZD will be held on the Hirers CREDIT card for the duration of the hire.   Once the motorcycle is returned undamaged and cleared from the pre inspection ‘’Motorcycle Condition Report’’. The preauthorisation bond of $1800 NZD will be released. This report was signed on pick up by both the Hirer and a Goat Road representative. Any damage to the motorcycle or accessories will be deducted from the excess bond with any balance returned to the Hirer.


    BOND $1800 NZD - NO BOND - NO BIKE.

  • Booking and Deposit.

    When the Hirer makes a booking, allow for 20% deposit of the total rental fee with the remaining due on, or before pick up. If the Hirer cancel’s more than 30 days prior pick up, get full refund. If the Hirer cancels more than 24 hours before pick up the hirer will get HALF of the 20% deposit back. Cancelled less than 24 hours before pick up is zero refund. Prepare to have sufficient funds on the CREDIT card to cover the compulsory Excess insurance bond for the duration of hire.

  • Fines or Infringements.

    The Hirer is bound by the terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement to pay all fines incurred from the registered motorcycle at time of hiring. Refer to INFRINGEMENT OFFENCES from the Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions page.

  • Accidents

    Regardless of who is at fault, if the motorcycle is involved in an accident, you must notify Goat Road Motorcycle Hire Ltd at once with details of the incident including overall damage to the Hired motorcycle, Names, photos, Cell phone numbers. The more information the Hirer obtains for insurance purposes, may prove beneficial to the Hirer. Do not attempt to move the motorcycle unless necessary to prevent further damage to the motorcycle or third-party property. 

  • Motorcycle unrideable due to Accident

    In the above case. Unfortunately, this ends the Hire. Your excess bond may be used for salvage costs, part replacements or motorcycle replacement. Goat Road Motorcycle Hire Ltd can not guarantee the Hirer replacement motorcycle.

  • Riding the motorcycle

    Goat Road Motorcycle Hire Ltd Hires Dual Purpose Adventure & Touring motorcycles. NOT Dirt bikes. DO NOT ride the motorcycle off road. This is Strictly prohibited. Ride on sealed and unsealed roads ONLY. NOTE FOR TOURING MACHINES. Ride on unsealed roads to a bare minimum. Unsealed roads NOT recommended for Touring Motorcycles.

  • Tyres

    Cost of any punctures or tyre replacement due to damage sustained during the hire period no matter how the damage occurred, is at the Hirer’s cost.

  • Keys

    The Hirer is responsible for the motorcycle keys, including any panner keys. The total cost of key replacement will be payable by the Hirer. Goat Road Motorcycle Hire Ltd will do their upmost to replace the keys via courier freight at the Hirer’s cost. Expenses due to immobility of the motorcycle are directly at the Hirer’s cost.

  • Maintenance overview.

    Daily maintenance checks such as but not limited to oil and coolant levels, lights, indicators, horn check. Tyre condition and pressure. Chain lube and general overview for any lose components or mechanical faults. Do not wash the motorcycle. Return with full tank of fuel.   

  • Do not wash the motorcycle. We will do this for you.
  • Return motorcycle with full tank of fuel.
